About

This was formerly known as “life food and me”, but since I decided to resurrect this over the pandemic this last year and then when the sweetie gave me a cool new food book for my birthday a name change was in order and “Cooking With Princellar” was born.

I want to really concentrate on cooking my way through this delightful book “1000 Foods To Eat Before You Die”, because I get to try something new and I get to experiment with a lot of local food sources right here in Kansas City.

I realized as I was going through my new book that there are so many different culinary traditions right here in KC and in Missouri that I find so fascinating. Even at my job I work with so many different cultures that I can’t help but ask my friends for some of their favorite dishes that I can pull from my book and of course try to replicate.

I am up to trying anything because I love food, my friends and family call me a food geek and ok it fits. I’m not a professional chef nor have I’ve taken any cooking classes since home economics when I was in high school or the culinary class at the start of my college journey. I just like food, the smell, and the taste, the doing of cooking and yes even the mundane task of grocery shopping.

I’m learning how to make things that are so outside my wheelhouse, from piecrusts to cooking fresh seafood….wow!!

I really want to live my life to the fullest, to stop being afraid to write or afraid of anything else that happens in my life. To quote a line from a video posted in one of my groups: “When I die, I want to die on ‘E’, to leave no dream left behind, to leave no opportunity behind, when I leave this earth I want to accomplish every single thing I can accomplish!”

My goals with this blog and in the coming year:

  • To turn this into something special not only for myself but for all my followers
  • To create a YouTube channel for all my favorite spots in KC
  • Get healthy and live life fully

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my rants, recipes and attempt at photography.

      1. You’re welcome! Please don’t feel rushed or pressured to respond.
I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and look forward to reading more 🙂

  1. Cheers! I need to find some healthier recipes. I’ve been going overboard on my junk food intake. Blogging will definitely tech you alot about writing. There are so many people in here willing to help each other out it’s crazy sometimes, but never hesitate to ask for help. That’s what we’re here for! Thanks

    1. Hi! I plan on adding more recipes, but I can’t promise you they will all be healthy, some will be from my huge recipe collection and some will be those that I will create from my own madness but hopefully they will all be good. For some reason I am enjoying blogging this time around and looking forward to connecting with others through it.
