A Few Kitchen Fails and Bacon Fat Gingersnaps!

After two failed recipe attempts over the past couple of weeks, I don’t know what happened, they started off as good ideas but they fell a little short of what I was aiming for.

The first recipe I wanted to make was to use up a half bottle of champagne; I was thinking to cook the chicken in it with some lemon and capers. Well the taste was ok but the look wasn’t what I was going for, so I’m thinking when I try this one again I will use the champagne as a sauce to serve over the chicken. DIY Day and Boozy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!

Because I’m that kind of girl, when I read something about food that sounds really good, well I have to try it out and that’s how I ended up making a few do-it-yourself projects on my day off. Plus I had to make cookies for Nick’s father for his birthday so I did that too.

The Tale Of Two Cookies!

Everyone that knows me knows that I will cook with whatever I have on hand. I will do some research online or go through my cookbooks to get some ideas or I will just go in the kitchen and start throwing stuff together and sometimes if I’m lucky I actually get something edible out of the deal.

The cool thing about cooking like this is that not only do I save money on my grocery bill I use up all the stuff taking over my pantry, pretty much like that shelf of canned goods that somehow made their way into my life will get used for some good meals and snacks later on this year so be on the look out for those ideas.
