My birthday is coming up next week and I always take my vacation during that time so I’ve never worked on my birthday, but this year I’m doing a bit of both. I flew down to Florida and stayed for four days and really wish that it was longer and I’m home for a couple of days then work two and off for the rest of my birthday.
So today as part of my vacation I remade some bread and made some basil salt with all the basil leaves I got off my plant and I watched Hamilton which was really very good, too bad I couldn’t do the actually live production but hey this was just as good.
My bread came out really good this time and it looks great.
You can find this recipe on my post I Made Bread!
If you’ve never tried basil salt your going to have to give it a try. All you need is 1/2 cup of kosher salt, 1/2 cup of basil leaves, grind in your chopper and put on a baking sheet and bake at about 250 degrees for 30 minutes and half way through shake it up a bit. After it finishes let cool and put back into the chopper to grind to a finer consistency.
I use this on pretty much everything especially when I make pasta or on my chicken and it makes a great finishing salt.
The best part of my birthday weekend will be that I will have dinner at Gordon Ramsey’s at the casino too bad my favorite chef won’t be there, that would be friggin awesome okay calm down not going to happen. But I will be celebrating with the kids so that will be fun.
Have an awesome day everyone!
