I remember, thirteen years ago today. It was a bright sunny day, I was living in St. Louis at the time and my life felt almost nearing perfect. I was headed into work at the then Adams Mark Hotel were I worked in the HR department as an employment specialist, a job I was falling in love with. As was my normal morning routine I went up into the employee dining room for my morning coffee and aspirin, I still didn’t know what was going on outside my perfect world. I stood there sipping coffee and looking at the morning TV show and I saw this: Continue reading “911 Do You Remember?”
Moving Day & Starting Over
It’s moving day and my Internet is a bit spotty until next week. Finally got everything moved out of the upstairs apartment down to the basement apartment and it is going to be an adjustment regardless of how long I’m here.
The biggest adjustment is going to be cooking in a hallway called a kitchen, so I’m looking forward to that challenge.

So because of the packing, unpacking and the organizing going on around here I have decided to wait until things calm down next week and then post my birthday post and my recipe for my Mom’s Pineapple pie. Plus I have to try and make sure I get the steps down right because I cook like all the Richardson women by taste, sight and touch.

Be on the look out for a look back over my Fiftieth birthday and a few things I’ve learned along the way and how I’m starting all over again from the bottom up.
Are You Living by Default or On Purpose?
“Are you living by default or are you living by God’s design for your life?

Maybe it’s because I’m hitting fifty this year that I’ve been really asking myself what do I want in life.” Maybe it’s because there’s not a whole lot to do when you’re laid up in bed except to think about your life and try to put everything into perspective. Maybe it’s because I finally picked up the book Gems for the Journey that’s been sitting on my nightstand collecting dust for over a year that I finally addressed this issue about my life and I decided to explore this subject a little deeper and see what it really meant.
Cast is Coming Off!!
Can you hear it….its the heavenly choir singing “Halleluiah”
After 2 months, this thing finally comes off and I get my walking cast….can we say woohoo, I get to walk again.

I get to get out the house and feel the sun on my face again and no more of this canned air in my apartment.
I’m so excited I would do the happy dance but maybe that’s not a good idea. So heres to the start of a great day!
