The Fugly Week!

This has truly been a fugly week since I’ve started blogging and I feel so bad that I started out so great doing the NaBloPoMo and then boom all of a sudden I get hit with a ton of bricks and feel like I’m falling behind.

I have just wanted to sit down and burst into tears since Monday night, I am feeling tired, afraid and overwhelmed because I’m a week behind in posting anything new and haven’t followed any of the daily prompts at all and my job search is lagging behind. Continue reading “The Fugly Week!”

The prompt today is about what’s on my playlist especially those songs or musical pieces that make me happy.

Giving Thanks!

Today is Thanksgiving, the first time in history of being back in KC that I’m not cooking and the family is not cooking. This year I passed the reins over to my baby girl, who decided that she wanted to cook the meal for family and friends and I said sure only because she was so excited about the possibility and I thought I would have to work

Chili, Casseroles and Birthdays

The past week was a whirlwind of birthdays, starting with my fathers on the nineteenth, my boyfriends on the twenty-first and then my baby sisters husbands on the twenty-third, yeah a lot of testosterone going on here. My sister and I still wonder how we ended up with men who have birthdays that fall during the same week as our father, we think it’s a bad joke played on us by fate :).

This year we are having a little surprise dinner for dad and the guys, nothing too fancy just a way to say happy birthday and we love you. We decided to have a chili contest between my sisters and I and let the guys pick their favorite, even though the only vote that matters is dad’s so of course we are going to do what sisters do and outdo the other to win points with the old man 🙂 Continue reading “Chili, Casseroles and Birthdays”

One Lovely Blog Award

The other day I woke to a very wonderful surprise in my comments, a fellow blogger Terryb at “Through The Lens Of My Life” had nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award and it just about brought me to tears. To receive this nomination is for me a great honor, it felt like I had just been nominated for an “Oscar” 😀 Thank you Terryb for thinking my blog was lovely, I really do appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. Now before I burst into tears, lets get on with it.
