Finally!

Finally got the new place set up and pretty much organized even though I’m sitting in my office surrounded by boxes and feeling like a hoarder (really have to stop watching that show). Don’t know if this place will be temporary for three months or will it be a permanent spot until next spring, regardless we are living out of boxes until we make that decision.

The one room I had to really set up was my kitchen and as you saw from my last post it’s pretty much a hallway, so I had to incorporate a few pieces reserved for the living room into the function of my kitchen.  Continue reading “Finally!”

Running in the Rain!

I found this video for my Inspirational Saturday post and this one brought tears to my eyes and reminded me that sometimes I have to slow down and enjoy my life even more, especially now during this season of my life. Being off work due to ankle surgery, hassling with insurance company for my disability and having to move into a smaller place. All these things could get me down but I’ve been blessed and the next time it rains I’m going to go and get washed. Happy Saturday my friends, enjoy!

Moving Day & Starting Over

It’s moving day and my Internet is a bit spotty until next week. Finally got everything moved out of the upstairs apartment down to the basement apartment and it is going to be an adjustment regardless of how long I’m here.

The biggest adjustment is going to be cooking in a hallway called a kitchen, so I’m looking forward to that challenge.

So because of the packing, unpacking and the organizing going on around here I have decided to wait until things calm down next week and then post my birthday post and my recipe for my Mom’s Pineapple pie. Plus I have to try and make sure I get the steps down right because I cook like all the Richardson women by taste, sight and touch.

Be on the look out for a look back over my Fiftieth birthday and a few things I’ve learned along the way and how I’m starting all over again from the bottom up.

It Will Become Clear

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a preachers kid aka PK, and I have a set of beliefs that I try to live my life by. I haven’t always been this way it took some time and a whole lot of dark days but I do believe in God. So you will notice that I will make reference to my belief a lot of times and I’m not trying to preach to no one, I’m just writing what comes from my place in this life that it may touch someone else.

Today for Inspirational Saturday this video was posted on my FB page from GodVine and it really gave me an even clearer understanding about how prayer works. Even if you don’t see anything happening right then an there, there is a change going on and things will get more clear as you continue to pray. Enjoy and please let me know if this video has touched you in any way.

The Song That Is Summer To Me!!

Daily Prompt: Musical Marker

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/musical-marker/

We all have songs that remind us of specific periods and events in our lives. Twenty years from now, which song will remind you of the summer of 2014?

When I got up this morning my plan was to write a rant blog but I saw the daily prompt and since I haven’t done one in a long time I decided that I would put the rant aside cause I’m sure I will see something else that I will want to add to it.

Today’s prompt is to write about a song that will remind me in twenty years about this summer of 2014. Under normal circumstances it would be a great love song but in my opinion there hasn’t been any really good love songs since I was a teenager. But there is one song out there that was released this year that I found to be really catchy and helped make me forget my troubles when I first heard it, that song is by Pharell Williams called “Happy”.

This is just one of those songs that makes you want to get up and dance all over the place and if I could I would. This song also remind that no matter what to be happy during the good and even the bad and this has been a bad summer for me.

The second verse of the song is my favorite it says “here comes bad news talking this and that, well give me all you got and don’t hold it back, I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine, no offense to you, don’t waste your time.”

It seems I’ve had nothing but bad news coming my way all this summer, with ankle surgery keeping me off my feet and not being able to work made my finances spiral out of control, plus I’m right in the middle of trying to move. So when I listen to this song it makes everything a little more bearable.
